Emily McJones, MA, LLP

I graduated with honors from Moody Theological Seminary & Graduate School in 2013 with a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology.  At Moody, I learned counseling skills, as well as how to integrate psychology and theology - thinking psychologically about theology and theologically about psychology. In 2017, after a great deal of study and prayer, I was welcomed into the Catholic Church, and am an active member of St. Mary Cathedral Parish in Lansing, MI.

Over the years I have worked as an in-home autism therapist and as an outpatient mental health therapist in both Christian non-profit and public Community Mental Health (CMH) settings. In 2016, I spent 6 months in India, teaching a counseling skills course and helping to start a crisis counseling center. Most recently, I worked as a Child & Adolescent Crisis Services therapist for CMH in Lansing. I grew in invaluable ways as a therapist during my time at CMH, but as the culture of the counseling community has changed over the years, it became clear that I could not remain in a secular environment, and in 2020 I left to start Little Flower Counseling.

Little Flower Counseling was born out of a desire to practice psychology in such a way that clients are treated as whole people. I firmly believe that, while psychology can be very helpful on its own, any approach that ignores the spiritual can never truly reach the core of a client's issues. Since founding LFC, I have had the joy of walking beside a great number of clients and their families, watching as they heal and grow, and watching many graduate from therapy.
